Mini Canvas Print Styles & Effects

After placing your mini canvas order, you will be taken to our ‘Design Requirements’ page.  This is where you tell us what colour you would like your canvas to be and how you would like your canvas edge to be printed.

Canvas Edge Styles

We can create the sides of your canvas in a number of ways.  Most canvas companies will wrap your image around the edge of the frame, but we normally prefer to adopt a different approach to this, as approximately eight times out of ten this will mean losing some of the photo to the frame edges.  This means that the way the photo looks when viewed from the front changes considerably and will often just not look ‘right’.

Cloned Edge

To overcome this we tend to favour a ‘cloned’ style, where we copy enough from each side of your photo to cover the frame edge and flip it over, so that it mirrors the original photo.  This ensures that your photo looks the way it should on your canvas when viewed ‘head on’, but also allows the image to ‘flow’ nicely around the frame.

Plain or Colour Matched Canvas Edge

That is just one option though – we will of course wrap your original image around the edges if you want us to (just tell us on the ‘Design Requirements’ page!).  We can add a plain edge if preferred – a white canvas edge is fairly common. Just as effective is a ‘colour matched’ canvas edge.  This is where the dominant colour from your image is used around all four sides of the canvas.

Combined Approach

Sometimes, we even use a combination of methods if we think this will be the most effective looking approach.  For example, we may wrap the left and right hand sides on a suitable image but clone the top and bottom to keep the ‘vertical’ details of the photo.  It all depends on each photo that we are transferring to canvas.

The Most Popular – Let Our Designers Decide For You!

The most common option from our ‘Design Requirements’ page is ‘Let your designers decide’.  We have a lot of experience of making canvas art and are of course happy to choose what we consider to be the best approach to creating your canvas edges.

None of the canvas edge options cost anything extra, they are all part of the canvas creation process so we are happy to create your canvas to suit you!

Canvas Print Effects – Colour Options

Canvas-Colour-Options

At the moment we are offering the three most popular options, which are :

Colour

If you select this option we will simply print your photo on canvas exactly as you send it to us.  We will however, automatically remove any red eye and enhance the image colours/contrast if necessary to produce the best canvas print that is possible.

Black and White

This is one of our most common requests, to convert photos to black and white prior to printing on canvas. Black and white provides a classic and stylish look to almost any photo.

Sepia

If you want a modern photograph to take on the appearance of an older photo, go for the sepia look.  This will add an orange/brown tone and can look great!

We may add more styles/effects in the future, but at the moment those currently available cater for the vast majority of customers requirements.  If you would like an alternative effect adding to your mini canvas please feel free to let us know and we will always try to help out where possible.
